International logistics is not only about moving goods from one point to another; it is about documenting that process in a manner that complies with legal, financial and customs requirements. At MCF Danışmanlık Ltd., we provide expert support in the accurate preparation, review and bank-standard (UCP 600) compliance of all logistics documents used in sea, road, air and rail transport.
An incorrectly issued transport document can leave goods held at customs, or payment uncollected. We manage that risk on your behalf.
01Core Logistics Documents by Mode of Transport
Each mode of transport requires different documents governed by international conventions:
Sea Freight: Bill of Lading (B/L)
The most critical document in sea freight. It is both a contract of carriage and a negotiable title document representing ownership of the goods.
Road Freight: CMR Document
The official document issued under the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road, setting out the responsibilities between sender, carrier and consignee.
Air Freight: Air Waybill (AWB)
The rapid-dispatch document used in air freight; it is not a title document, but it confirms that the goods have been accepted for carriage and will reach their destination.
Rail Freight: CIM / SMGS Document
The transport document used in international rail freight, containing wagon details and route information.
Multimodal Transport Documents (FBL): FIATA bills of lading that bring the entire process under a single liability where more than one mode of transport is used (for example sea plus road).

02Supporting Logistics Documents
The following documents also accompany a shipment through customs and warehousing:
- Packing List
- Details of the contents, weight and volume of each package.
- Delivery Order
- The official instruction authorising delivery of the goods to the consignee.
- Shipping Note
- The document issued for acceptance of the goods at a port or warehouse.
- Logistics Insurance Policy
- The insurance document protecting against loss or damage during transport.
